A child’s first birthday is a milestone worth marking. That opening year passes astonishingly fast, even allowing for the sleepless nights and the worries that come with a new baby. Reaching the twelve-month mark is a significant moment for both the child and the parents. By this point, personalities are really beginning to emerge, which makes it an ideal time to capture those small, changing features — the smiles, the first teeth, the newly learned tricks — while spending unhurried time with your baby.

A relaxed approach

Sessions are kept deliberately calm and are shaped around the child in front of the camera. Some little ones arrive full of smiles and confidence; others need a while to settle into unfamiliar surroundings. Either way, the pace is set by the baby. There is time during the session for outfit changes, and a selection of stylish props is on hand. Colour schemes and other preferences can be discussed before the booking date.

Cake, balloons and a bit of mess

Balloons and cake can be worked into these sessions, and the cake does not have to be real if you would rather avoid the mess. Cake smash sessions are also available and are enormous fun, though they are priced as a full session. You are welcome to bring your own cake, or recommendations for local cake-makers can be provided.

Everyone in the frame

Time is always made for photographs with family members. Nobody is forced into a shot, but a little gentle encouragement is offered — the resulting pictures are usually treasured.

Beyond the first birthday

The first birthday is not the only one worth recording. Second, third and later birthdays are just as much fun to capture, and party sessions are available for older children.

A gift of memories

These sessions also make a lovely present for extended family members, and vouchers can be issued for that purpose. Buying for a one-year-old is rarely straightforward, so the gift of memories is worth considering. Further details and pricing are available on request.
